Snakes of the Bathurst and Oberon region

Snakes of the Region

The Bathurst and Oberon region is home to a surprisingly diverse range of snakes, from highly venomous species such as Eastern Brown Snakes and Tiger Snakes to harmless species such as Diamond Pythons and blind snakes.

If you encounter an unfamiliar snake, keep your distance, rather than attempting to identify or handle it yourself.

Not all snakes are found in the same area

For example Bathurst is typically not home to Highlands Copperheads
